Simple Almond Cake

Week 10, recipe 9 ~ Simple Almond Cake found on page 22

The only sweetener was in the cake- the strawberries & cream were unsweetened, so on the whole this dessert was not too sweet!  Rather like a European pastry.  =)

Notes:
~Baked faster- mine was done at 21-22 minutes.
~We did not have "Orange Liqueur", so we used 1 part Brandy and 3 parts Organic Orange Juice Concentrate.
~Next time, I would put all the orange & brandy on the underside of the top layer, or double the amount, because it was NOT enough to be divided between the 2 layers. (does that even make sense?)
~This cake would (to quote Sarah) "be perfect for a tea party".
